Troy, born and raised in Muncie, Indiana attended Delta High School.  He received a  Degree in Accountancy from Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1992.  Troy was a Division I wrestler as well as competing for Team USA in then Yugoslavia.

 

Upon graduation, Troy worked for Ernst & Young, auditing and consulting large corporations and publicly traded entities.  He earned his CPA license in 1995.  He started his own firm in December, 1996. He grew the CPA and Financial practice to 72 individuals and 10 offices in the contiguous states of Indiana.  In 2008 he was named by Thomson/Reuters as one of the top 40 CPA’s in the USA.  In 2005, the Indiana CPA Society named him the Outstanding CPA in Public Practice.  Troy has been a guest speaker for many State CPA Societies and has taught other CPA’s, Accountants, and Attorneys on subjects such as practice management, valuation, and profitable growth. 

 

Troy has served as a consultant to the American Dental Association and to one of the largest financial institutions in the country, helping them create a Valuation Template for dental practices nationwide.  He has published various articles on growth, operations, and valuations.

Troy and his wife Kim, who is also a CPA moved to Westfield, IN in 2000.  Troy and Kim have been active in the Westfield community, Kim serving on the Library Board, the Guerin Advancement Committee, and the PTO at Carey Ridge Elementary, as well as assistant tennis coach at the Middle School.  Troy has been active in Westfield, serving in WYSI building the Youth Elementary Wrestling Program and as a City Councilor.  He started with 4 wrestlers the first year, and over the next 7 years grew the program to over 80 kids thus creating one of the top programs in Indiana.  With the help of the parents, the program was able to donate back to the high school and middle school.  The fund raiser created by Troy and parents to this day generates over $25,000 per year for the Westfield programs.  Troy has also served on various committees of the Indiana CPA Society as well as the Editorial Board of Accounting Technology.

 

Troy and Kim have two children, Jenna and Clay.  Jenna is a senior at Indiana University and Clay is a sophomore at Chapman University.  Jenna is involved in tennis and serves as an assistant at a country club and Clay plays baseball at Chapman.

 

Today, Troy is President of Archer Investment Corporation which manages six publicly traded mutual funds, The Archer Funds.  He is also Managing Partner of Patton & Associates, LLC and serves as partner in charge of the firm’s Valuation and Litigation practice.  In addition to his CPA certification, he obtained his Accredited in Business Valuation certification by the AICPA.  Troy is called as an expert witness in state and local courts and testifies in matters involving valuation and business issues.
